DIY: Owie Blend

The DIY I use most frequently these days!!

This is my "Owie Blend"
I use this for literally all skin irritations and small cuts.
Lavender is great for soothing the skin, Frank for healing benefits, and Tea Tree for cleansing. Topped up with FCO (fractionated coconut oil) and you're good to go!

Recipe:
in a 15ml bottle add
-6 drops Lavender
-5 drops Frankincense
-4 drops Tea Tree
-Top up with FCO

To Use:
Shake well, drop a couple drops (more or less depending on the size of area that needs to be covered) and massage in to the skin

*full disclosure*
I re-use empty doTERRA bottles to make new mixes in because:

It's cheaper than always buying new bottles more money for more oils
I wish doTERRA had a recycling program gotta take care of our Earth, we only have one!
It's super convenient! I'll always have one laying around and they fit perfectly in my oils pouch

Happy Oiling!

My Journey

Hi there!

If we haven't met before, I am Kait. I am the founder of Holistic Home and this is my journey with how I got to this point in my life, why I am so passionate about incorporating these oils into my daily, and how I do it!
Follow me on Instagram for daily inspiration! Join my Facebook group to be a part of the awesome oil community that is being created!

It all started approximately five years ago, my friend invited me to her "oils party". I thought it sounded like a good excuse to meet a few new people and drink some wine, I never intended on spending any money on oils that night.

I arrived at my friend's place, she had Balance diffusing, one of her favourites, and it smelled amazing. There were freshly baked peppermint gluten free brownies (get the recipe here)! She had tons of literature and information accessible all over. It was incredibly organized and informative. I had a slight headache from the night before (perhaps too much wine) and near the end of the party we were given a drop of peppermint oil in our palms to inhale and rub along our hairline, the cooling effect instantly gave me relief from my headache and I was hooked. I ordered the Home Essentials Enrollment Kit and got on my way.

This kit includes the Petal Diffuser (one of my faves to have in the bedroom as it doubles as a soft night light) and these oils: Frankincense, Lavender, Lemon, Oregano, Peppermint, Tea Tree, Deep Blue, Easy Air, On Guard, and ZenGest. As you can see, I dove in head first to incorporating oils into my life and I haven't turned around since!

My education is in Conflict Management; I have a Masters Degree in Conflict Analysis and Management from Royal Roads University and Third-Party Mediation training from the Justice Institute of British Columbia. I currently work as a Family Mediator, helping families to transition, resolve, or separate in a way that is healthy and encourages an environment that allows everyone to thrive. I look for balance for the clients I work with. This inspires much of what I do in my own life as well.

I try to lead a life that is BALANCED. I try to incorporate different ways of remaining physically and emotionally balanced and healthy; one of those ways is through the use of essential oils. Keep checking back for different ways that I do this! I will be posting recipes, new discoveries, and DIYs. I hope you find something that inspires you among these pages!
